Last Thursday, May 17, fifteen students from grades 2 through 9 participated in the 20th Swim Meet of Non-Public Schools of Krakow. Altogether 13 elementary and 9 middle schools were competing in 10 age categories.

Our students were very successful as we brought home 6 medals. Maja from Grade 6 won two gold medals at 50 m breaststroke and 100 m medley, Zuza from Grade 8 won silver at 50 m freestyle and bronze at 50 m butterfly, Maciek from Grade 9 won two silver medals at 50 m freestyle and 50 m breaststroke. Other students were also successful, especially that they took part in such a large competition for the first time –  Bella from Grade 2 won 5th place twice at 25 m freestyle and 25 m backstroke, David from Grade 4 won 7th place in 25 m freestyle, Kornelia from Grade 8 won 6th place twice in 50 m backstroke and 50 m breaststroke. Almost each student beat her/his personal best which is rewarding and encouraging for our young athletes.
We would like to continue swimming adventure next year by creating a swim team of the ISK led by Coach Angie (Ms. Bakula) and Coach Jacek (Mr. Guzik) that would meet for regular practice. The objective would be to participate with a success in an annual swim meet at the Americal School of Warsaw in December 2018 as well as in CEESA Swim Meets for Middle and High Schools in March of 2019.
We would like to congratulate all our young swimmers and express how proud we are of each of them!
